Legends Learn

Legends great and legends small, great to few or maybe all,

live among us every day in their own time and their own way

sculpting life to fulfill their natural strength in nature’s will

to satisfy their present mind that often dwells where others find

a hollow nothing, an empty throne that can’t be built or bought or sold.

Legends grow and legends learn about themselves in daily turns

of silent battles in secret places, among deities of sacred spaces, 

where lessons taught were then made learned, as sun and moon and tide all turned,

without acknowledgement of those who strive to meld their very souls

into an alchemy of life where from their works the wrongs are righted. 

Legends grow and legends learn to do no harm and thus preserve

the sanctity of their own life among all those who daily strive

to make their way through every day in each their own small natural way

with their best efforts, without remorse, driven by life giving force,

to see their works become their view and see their efforts there renewed.
