Dear Music, Tell me again how delicate life is and how every moment is so precious Tell me why the strings of instruments can still my thoughts, soothe my consciousness Tell me again we take for granted the basic goodness of everyday Tell me when I forget that the winds can too be shaped in such numerous ways Play for me your keys and chords the gentle touches of a hand Play the sounds where nature sings and time is washed away like sand Play for me upon your pedals the various tones of every note Play a story that listening creates Without a word from human throat Oh tunes of wonder and delight Oh gilded sounds of day and night Oh softened tones touched and tendered Oh place where all my worries render The portal between the meaning and gist The infinite space no mortal resists The symmetrical paths of music's lift The noted played eternal gift.
