Long Before Now Gone
Faded photo memories from long before now gone
Tells of life that grew to age in which we once belonged
From hill and dale across the lands where tree and stump still stand
Lives the tales of past gone days of every child of man
Who wandered here among the rays of sunlit skies of blue
To sit beneath the starry skies of night drenched silver hues
Near campfire sites or front porch chairs in groups or solitaire
Breathing in the thoughts of mind from living's daily cares
Where chore and duty recompensed their own reward to see
In fields of harvest swaying in the passing by of breeze
While weathered skin kept daily count of both a smile and worry
Teaching all who tended task that living would assuredly
Need our presence to bring forth our own best hands to make
Another day for living life as photos gently fade.
