An Evening Repose

At end of day in dark of night in silence lay by lamp alight,
Where softened petals from flower bloom ease my essence in a room,
As fragrance lifts all cares from mind let music play to please in time,
A day now pass to memory an evening repose that gives me sleep.

Among the grass now new in green where birds again return to sing. Sparrows, warblers, mockingbirds, swoosh through winds on winged whispers. Sunlight bright, clear blue sky, Easter eggs, kites to fly. Warming air, longer days, teams to sort, ball games to play. Tractors plowing, seeds to sow, sprouts to gardens so to grow. Pollen sprinkles, grass to mow, rumbling rain showers away they roll. Onward, forward, farther go,  sweeping routines clean from souls. Trees in bloom, pink for spring,  adventure calls in visions seen. Motorcycles, water parks, roller coasters, museum arts. Weekend warriors plans in hand,  friend made road trips, sing with the band. Trunks stuffed full for family vacations,  schedules to keep in distant locations.
